KRISHNAYAM a registered social charitable organization was founded by 3 friends and colleagues some 10 years back with the intention to make our society grow in terms of cultural parameters while transcending the benefits to the needy ones. These friends started working in the villages, in and around the state of West Bengal in India, where life seems to be a miserable experience.
Today KRISHNAYAM has 25 active members and many volunteers who are from every walk of life and are dedicated to the causes they believe and nurture for the benefit of humanity. The Members earnestly believe in the phrase “HUMANITY DESERVES BETTER” and they are giving their best effort to take every step ahead in their grand vision.
While helping the underprivileged children in the field of imparting basic education, providing basic minimum health and sanitary education and supporting in their struggle to be a part of the society, KRISHNAYAM supports in running a home of 22 such deprived children at Samali in the outskirts of Kolkata. Every year with the new session in mind KRISHNAYAM schedules a programme for 500 ‘little feet with big feat’ to provide them with a whole new set of school accessories and Books. It was during 2006 when these street urchins were proud to hold the position of Judge during a “Pujo Parikrama” organized by KRISHNAYAM selecting the best Puja Pandals of the city.
One would always find a Member of KRISHNAYAM standing beside a needy senior citizen, especially the widows, at any time of the day. A charitable medical Camp is organized at Muldia, Joynagar, 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India on the first Monday of the month for these poor and needy people where they are benefited by free distribution of medicines. Apart from this, to bring some light in the life of these abundant people of the society, a free Eye Check up Camp with free distribution of spectacle and dental and health check up camps are organized every year. To make the New Year happy for these people we set up a cultural programme for their entertainment where winter garments and blankets are distributed. Visit to the only Government run old age home in South Garia, 24 Parganas, where the light of entertainment has been blocked from all angles, is part of KRISHNAYAM’s routine event. By giving gift hamper and fruits during festive days to these old and needy people at the Old Age Home and light entertainment by KRISHNAYAM Junior Members, brings them all happiness which they have lost in the past years.
We have also started giving scholarship to a few meritorious underprivileged students who can achieve higher education and be a part of the main stream society.
Our chief interest is to motivate people who have been shrouded by a life of misery and give a new dimension to their lives. Members of KRISHNAYAM have strong determination that “We will surely make them smile in their voyage of eternal miles”
KRISHNAYAM Members request each one of you to join hands with them for a bigger and better cause.
